JESUS' "AHA!" MOMENT

Here are some interior monologues by Jesus just at the moment when he came up out of the Jordan after being baptized by John. He sees the dove and hears the voice from heaven saying, "This is my beloved son. Listen to him" These latter words are a citation from Is 42:1, and Jesus recognizes them as being about the mysterious "Suffering Servant" who will suffer for his people. The assignment is to write about Jesus's reaction, his "Aha! moment."

In Jesus’ day, there were two  theories of the Kingdom God. The Jewish idea of the kingdom
states that the Kingdom of God is a nation-state which implies that it’s not a physical place, which is from pagans and is ruled by a military messiah. Then Jesus gave his idea of the Kingdom of God which contradicts the Jewish idea and beliefs, which made the Jews hate him. Jesus said that the Kingdom of God isn’t a physical place. It has no political borders. He said that it’s a new way of relating to God, and your neighbors, loving without limits. Jesus’ last idea of the kingdom of God says that a messiah is a purely spiritual figure, which made  the Jews mad because they thought that he would  be a military leader; this is one reason why Jesus didn’t want people to call him the messiah because the Jews would  misinterpret  the meaning of it. The Jewish idea of loving your neighbor is the same as Jesus’s idea, but with a few exceptions. Jesus said that you should love everyone, no exceptions, because it imitates God’s love towards us,  and you should love even your enemies. The Jews would reject this because they can’t love the pagans; they would think why should we love sinners? Why should they have the same privilege as us? Why would God love them? This made the Jews hate Jesus even more, and perhaps want to kill him.
