Kingdom
Summary
This kingdom summary is based on the concept of the manner in which Jesus Christ interprets
the phrase and saying The kingdom of God, and also how it contrasts with the way Jews in
the time period 1000- 1,500 AD defined the The kingdom of God.
Jesus interprets the kingdom of God in nine different components. The first component is: the
kingdom of God is not a physical place that one can enter on this earth. The kingdom is not Rome
whose great walls can wither, but is everlasting and not of this world. The second component: The
kingdom has no physical political borders that man can destroy, because the kingdom has not been
made flesh, but it is of the spirit. The third component is that men in the messianic era should not
portray the messiah as a fearsome conquering general and king, but a spiritual figure. The fourth
component is Jesus is not a tyrant God king, but a passionate father, and a good shepherd
that would not lead his flock astray. The fifth: Jesus is our Abba father, brother, and friend. The
sixth component Jesus loves everyone, all sinners with boundless love. The seventh component: that
man should treat those as they would treat themselves in the kingdom of God. The eighth component:
the children of God must almsgive, or give and receive. The ninth and last component is to love thy
neighbor, and love your enemies if a man strikes your face offer him the other side. These are the
components of Jesus Christ in contrast to the Jewish components.
The Jewish components of the kingdom of God are that this kingdom is a nation
state, on earth ruled by a military general messiah, Jesus is awesome and fearsome, Jesus is holy and
mysterious, they can’t almsgive to gentiles and all who are not Jews, and all who are not Jews are out
casts. These are the differences between Jesus ideal of the kingdom of God and the Jewish
idea of the Kingdom of God.
